De PAN is Calefax’ jaarlijkse minifestival met topmusici uit allerlei genres en verrassende uitstapjes naar andere kunstvormen. In deze 21e editie treedt Calefax zelf op en nodigt artiesten uit binnen- en buitenland uit, van countertenor Arturo den Hartog tot CalefaXS, in samenwerking met de Sweelinck Akademie.

Countertenor Arturo den Hartog brengt samen met Jair Konter, muziek van Aaron Copland, Gerald Finzi en de fantastische in Belize geboren Britse componist Errollyn Wallen de revue passeren. Max Knigge arrangeerde bovendien liederen uit Suriname die Arturo gewoon met het publiek móet delen.

A Myth is een zintuiglijke, muzikale performance waarin zang, beweging, slagwerk en koper samenkomen in één grote fysieke compositie.

Four bodies traverse an ever-changing landscape. Drawing inspiration from John Dowland's song cycle A Pilgrim's Solace (1612), Thijs creates unique musical theatre for four musical performers.

"Retracing Steps is a profound journey through the ancestral lineage of composer Julian Tjon Sack Kie. He wrote the piece for a unique combination of instruments: kora (African harp), ngoni (a West African string instrument), harp and percussion.
